Neck pain and low back pain is commonly seen in patients;

In young patients the cause is mainly due to improper work posture,any injury to the region or due to a acute muscle spasm.

In middle age and old age patients the reason is mainly due to inadequate calcium nutrition,osteoporosis or due the age related arthritis changes in the spine.

Basic treatment consist of giving adequate rest to the spine along with a proper physiotherapy protocol.You may also require Xrays and MRI to find out arthritis or nerve compression.You should avoid bending and lifting heavy weights to reduce the back muscle spasm.Oral analgesics may be started for severe pain.
